Musgrave Instruction Manual

Before handling this firearm, read this manual carefully and observe all safety instructions. 
⁠Improper and careless handling of firearms can result in unintentional discharge, injury, death, or damage to property. Please note that unauthorized modifications, corrosion, or the use of non-standard ammunition can also lead to severe consequences. The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for any resultant damages.

Important Notice
Before leaving the factory, all firearms are tested, inspected, and packed. JJ Wapens Manufacturing/Musgrave cannot accept responsibility for the product's handling while in transit or after leaving the factory. Please examine the rifle upon purchase to ensure it is unloaded and undamaged.

Basic Safety

Firearm Safety Rules

  • Always handle the firearm as if it were loaded.

  • Never point your firearm at anything you do not intend to shoot.

  • Always verify personally if the firearm is unloaded.

  • Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.

  • Ensure you possess the necessary competencies and licenses as required by your country's firearm control laws.


Storage

  • Store your firearm unloaded in a locked safe.

  • Keep the striking mechanism open when not in use.


Usage

  • Never leave a loaded firearm unattended.

  • Use only clean, dry, commercially manufactured ammunition appropriate for your rifle's caliber.

  • ⁠Avoid substance use (alcohol or drugs) while handling firearms.

  • Always wear safety glasses and ear protection during shooting sessions.

  • Keep the safety mechanism engaged until you are prepared to fire.


Emergency Protocols

  • ⁠If the rifle has been dropped or damaged, have it inspected by a qualified gunsmith immediately.


Technical Specifications

  • Include specifications such as caliber, weight, barrel length, etc. as per the manufacturer's details.


Know Your Rifle

Safety Mechanism

  • Fire Position* (Forward): Exposes the red dot (fire).

  • Strip Position* (Middle): Exposes both red and white dots; allows bolt manipulation while locking the firing pin

  • Safe Position* (Rear): Exposes only the white dot and locks both the firing pin and bolt.
     

Trigger Mechanism

  • Screw A: Adjusts spring tension for pull weight (light, normal, heavy).

  • Screw B: Adjusts trigger travel distance (overtravel).

  • Screw C: Modifies drag on trigger and sear surfaces.


Note: Ensure locknuts on adjustment screws are tightened after making adjustments. The recommended trigger pull should not be less than 3.3 lb (1.5 kg). Always test safety mechanisms after any component fitting.

Safety Procedures

Regular Inspections

  • ⁠Inspect your rifle before and after use to ensure it is clean and functioning properly.


Operating Instructions

Loading the Rifle

  1. Open the Bolt: Point the rifle in a safe direction.

  2. ⁠Load Cartridges: Insert cartridges into the magazine.

  3. Close the Bolt: Chamber the round by pushing the bolt forward and rotating the handle down.

  4. ⁠Set the Safety: Ensure the safety lever is in the safe position while aiming at your target.


Firing the Rifle

  1. Cock the Rifle: Ensure the safety is in the fire position.

  2. Aim: Point the rifle at the target.

  3. ⁠Engage the Trigger: Squeeze the trigger to fire.

  4. Unload: Immediately unload the rifle after firing.


Maintenance Instructions

Cleaning Your Rifle

  • Clean your rifle before first use, after each use, if it gets wet, and at least once a month in tropical climates.


Disassembly for Cleaning

  • ⁠Ensure the firearm is in a safe condition before attempting disassembly.


Troubleshooting

  • For assistance, use the WhatsApp function on the manufacturer's website to contact a technician.

  • Refer to the manufacturer's diagram or parts list for identification.
